Data Protection

Under the terms of the Data Protection Act the Society has a responsibility to inform data subjects (horse owners) about the intention to collect data (which includes personal information relating to a horse owner’s name and address) and how that data will be used.

Information supplied in connection with your application and other horse passport based information about horse and owner is held in order for the Society to carry out its mandatory requirements as a passport issuing organisation.

From time to time the Society is required to make such information available to Defra, recognised enforcement authorities and the central equine database in order that they may carry out their responsibilities regarding the implementation of the horse passport legislation.

The Society will also publish the data for registered Percherons in the British Percheron Horse Society Stud Book.
